CM] Calleign! Here goes her emotions-filled introduction:

After an admirable departure of our faithful and spontaneous Community Manager (CM) of all GE gamers, Lorenza, I have once taken up another big challenge in my career path. Being a CM might not seems as easy as what the crowd might deemed, the incumbent requires good PR skills and the patience to explain things through plain text to the audiences out there. Your queries and concerns needed our immediate attention or rather IMO,as a CM, we should undeniably nourish our audiences with our wealth of knowledge and ensure you guys were all being fed with sufficient information.

Why is it a challenge? From what I’ve heard from our soon-to-be ex CM, Lorenza, GE consists of many professionals and working adults, whom demand certain quality and standards. Therefore, being your CM, I should acquire the same level of corresponding towards the entire GE public. Starting to engage myself with the community, learning with a great deal of adaptability with such an intelligent crowd, I find myself having complex emotions in this particular role. For instance, intensity over my brain and a fervent excitement throughout my heart! Definitely, rest assured that [CM] Calleign will deliver her best, whilst working extremely hard on her inept areas on GE. Having said that, yep, my GE knowledge is private limited. :P

Transitions and changes are all but inevitable. Farewell [CM] Lorenza , and to welcome [CM] Calleign would not be just a “change”, considering the many years of attached emotions that couldn't be wiped off in an instance. Of course, while reminiscing her significant contributions, [CM] Calleign will be here to share the upcoming news and events, to cater the needs of you people, and also to serve as an influential communication channel between the company and my beloved you. J

In fact, I should be taking this opportunity to introduce myself, I’ve however written my overwhelming thoughts and emotions over this revolutionary period in IAHGames. I reckon you guys would be more enticed on what I have for you guys than my personal interest! But.. But.. Chances are, ahead lies tons of opportunities to know me better ands hall my effort be witnessed and recognized by my community, you.

It's time to say Goodbye

My adopted child, Granado Espada is already standing at coming to 5 years, I've seen its birth, growing up as a kid, and finally became an adult. Anyone remember the Zouk Parteh we held to celebrate the arrival of her way back in 2007? How time flies...

That aside...

It has been a fun-filled 5 years, I honestly enjoyed my years being your community manager, especially the initial year where I just became one. I had fun and laughter, be it in the game, during events or even on Facebook!

Many of you had been asking me what exactly do I have to do as your Community Manager, and many of you thought my only responsibility is to keep you guys entertained. In all honesty, keeping you guys entertained is not part of my JD, most of the time, I did it during my personal time - or rather, primarily, I am your voice to the management. I kept an eye in the community to know what feedback was being massively brought up and think of solutions to resolve it together with the team.

Other than being your voice to the management, there are many other things like events, partners' management, etc and etc to handle, as well as keeping the game operationally ready on a daily basis, these of course, are all team work, together with Uncle MeepokTah, Hrin, Kaioujin, Xanxus, if you still remember all of them :)

Over the years, I was stretched and had taken on more responsibilities where GE is not my only child, I had to make a choice - to finish up my main dish before taking my dessert or consume the dessert together with the main dish concurrently. I tried both, but the latter failed. Many of you might have felt that I went missing for the past few months, in fact, I was around, always around - I was just battling with time, I do not have the luxury of time to do replies on the forum anymore - with that being said, I still visit the forum occasionally hokays! Of course, overcoming all these made up many lessons in my life. It was all good. :) Leaving is parts and parcels in life, and I'm sure you guys will be in good hands.

If you guys have been with sGE long enough, you guys should have seen my growth from the early days where I am just your Game Master - that was when I have just started my first job after graduation. 5 years gone, and I'm this old. *frowns* =\

I'm never good at saying goodbyes, never, still am very bad at it. But since this will be the last time I will be writing here, I'm all out! Here comes all the mushy mushyyyyyyness.... :P

I really appreciate the kind of support you guys have given me for the past 5 years;

For those who loved me, thank you for supporting me all these years.
For those who hated me, thank you for providing me with your constructive feedback.
For those who don't know me, well, it's not too late! I'm your Community Manager, soon-to-be an ex that is! :)

And well... Goodbyes always end with: - Please give your fullest support (like how you have given me the past years) to the guys taking over me!

My last day of work is the end of this month, I'll still be hanging around in the game after my departure, so yeah, don't forget to say hello to me if you see me around! :)

Add me on Facebook if you have not already done so - http://www.facebook.com/C.M.Lorenza, as for both my in-game nick and Facebook account, I'll be reverting back to Lorenza, you guys can still contact me there afterwhich, but no longer as your Community Manager, so no moar GE stuffs alrighteys!

With that being said,
Adios! *sniff sniff*

Is Lorsie MISSING?!

Woo! Realized that it has been 4 months since I last blogged, goodness. Gragon brought up that there were many players asking about my whereabouts, and why is the blog not updated for months!

No, I have not forgotten about my boys and girls, I just had too much on my plates that I couldn't finish them - so I had to finish up my main dish before I could take my dessert. :(

My rants aside, did you guys enjoyed your Christmas Celebration? What are you guys going to do to welcome 2012? :) Share with me!

Besides the purpose of letting you guys know that Lorsie is still alive and kicking, I'm also here to deliver good news, which .. .. hmm .. most of you should already know by now. Version 9.5 is comingggggg to town! Ah-ha! What you guys do not know is the question WHEN?! :P

Initially, Lorsie insisted to be launched during December, so that my boys and girls can enjoy the new content this festive season and it's school holidays, c'mon! But .. .. The content is so huge that the team really needed more time to prepare. So yeah, we're fixing it on the 3rd week of January, it's again, a tentative date.

From the look of it, it seems possible - don't take my words hokays!

Well.. I believe the game content database all of you guys had is definitely more updated than mine, so there's no need for me to tell you what's coming up in v9.5 isn't it? :P

Which are the ones you guys most looking forward to?

Ermm .. ..

Let's see what I have here...

There are 4 new characters, Ludin, Veroniff, Daria and Natalie - and a new raid which is recommended for Family Level 50 and above, the new Farming system, the revamped Pioneering Memorial System, or Strata Devil Armour Series?! The list goes on...

I heard you guys love kids, is that true? :P
Meet her in sGE this January!

Everything also can play! ..on HD somemore!

It was around 2 years around. I was glancing around the PC Show in Suntec City, visiting our GE retailers, when I chanced upon this booth. There was a small crowd looking at brochures and listening to a demonstration. The young dude doing the presentation has a proud confidence in his product, repeating “this box already very popular on the internet, everyone say good!” and I was convinced enough to buy a set home.

The name of the set is “AC Ryan PlayOnHD” and I was very happy with my purchase.

Media players were still a relatively new concept here in Singapore back then but I have already recognized it as a common household appliance in the future. Which Singaporean doesn’t like to download his favorite movie (home-made video.. I mean) and watch them anytime they want. Best of it all, it’s free! I was impressed by the fact that it can play ALL the FORMATS I threw into its SATA hard-disk, which I installed easily. I was also impressed that with a simple WIFI dongle, I could link it up effortlessly to my home network. Coupled with network storage, it was my digital collection on-demand! It was able to play full HD on my LCD TV via a HDMI cable (supplied with it!) and best of it all, it passed my wife’s “NO UGLY APPLICANCES IN THE HOUSE!” standard.

When my son started becoming fan of dinosaurs and Ben 10 cartoons, he willfully lorded over it and started denying me of my “Big Bang Theories” episodes. I then had no choice but to purchase a cheaper China-made media box, which I eventually relegated to a remote part of my house. Yes, this lower grade box plays HD video, but they did not guarantee the quality of the HD video. It was grainy and had an interface that gives me a headache. You really have to pay for quality.
“my trusty PlayOnHD set sitting nice under my TV”

I also came to realize that it REALLY has a lively community behind the product. There were at least 2-3 firmware updates quarterly, bugs were fixed regularly and answers were given from friendly moderators on their forum. The jukebox function used by the appliance was even designed and managed by the community of developers.

So why am I writing about this thing I bought 2 years ago?

By a stroke of luck, an ex-colleague became the PR and Marketing manager at AC Ryan and has agreed to sponsor some units of the 2nd Generation PLAYonHD players (better than the one I am using now!) for our GE HCOF fans!

So what would I be missing out then? (That is if I decided not to upgrade my box to the 2nd Generation one..:P)

From the review set that I was trying out on, it is obvious that the new chipset plays a clearer and meaner FULL HD video. I am talking about REAL Blu-ray ISO files in its full 1080p glory. It now plays even more formats (who need so many formats? I only need MKV and FLAC!) and has built-in file indexing (so that your undesirable video files shows on the “latest video”…haha! Of course, you could disable that).
“new versus old – old habit dies hard, I still prefers my 1st Gen remote.”

The latest PlayonHD2 is also capable of supporting the famous DTS audio standards and has a optical audio output. For folks with older TVs, the box also has component and normal RCA outputs. I forgot to mention that it has USB3.0, which means that your file copying goes at “faster than ever” speed.

For a full list of its improved performance, you could visit their official site at www.acryan.com. To sum it up, I picked up my personal favorite top 10 features of this wonderful mediabox and here they are…

1. Slick and Cool User Interface – to impress friends when they visit.
2. USB3.0 – 4GB MKV file in 1 minute!
3. Ability to do social media – stay connected to your friends all the time!
4. Ez-Drive Slot – bought a new 3TB SATA hard-drive? Slot it in in 3 seconds!
5. Support even more formats – can I say it support almost EVERYTHING now?!
6. Latest Realtek chipset – You will tell the difference.
7. Constant Firmware Upgrades – the software is improving all the time!
8. Cool looks – my wife approves it beside my TV. Nuff said.
9. Low Heat Generation/Noise – I have another box and not only does it make funny noise, it serves as a frying pan sometimes.
10. Save the Earth - If you buy the box bundled with a hard-drive, the drives are all certified eco-friendly from “Green Life”.“there’s something about those shiny text…”

Just as I end this review, the lady told me my review set just got another firmware update.
Isn’t that great?
